Ted Peters |
An ordained pastor in the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Ted Peters currently serves as
Interim President of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. Since
1978 he has taught Systematic Theology at Pacific Lutheran Theological
Seminary (PLTS) and the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) in Berkeley,
California. As a research scholar he is affiliated with the Center
for Theology and the Natural Sciences (CTNS). He is editor of
Dialog, A
Journal of Theology and co-editor of
Theology and Science. He
has authored books in the field of systematic theology such as
GOD—The
World's Future (Fortress 2000);
God as Trinity
(Westminster/John Knox 1993) and
Sin: Radical Evil in Soul and Society (Eerdmans
1994). He has authored books dealing with the dialogue between
science and religion such as
Science, Theology, and Ethics (Ashgate
2003); Playing God? Genetic
Determinism and Human Freedom (Routledge
2002); and For the Love of
Children: Genetic Technology and the Future of the Family
(Westminster/John Knox Press, 1996). He has also edited or co-edited
volumes such as Genetics: Issues
of Social Justice (Pilgrim 1997);
Science and Theology:
The New Consonance (Westview
1998); God, Life, and the Cosmos:
Christian and Islamic Perspectives (Ashgate
2002); and Resurrection
(Eerdmans 2002). |
